It's Not A Sprint. It's Not A Marathon.
When you plan your journey and think about the forecast.
You say: Sprint?
I say: No.
You say: Marathon?
I say: No.
We all want it fast.
With the least amount of effort.
Optimistic is human nature.
I understand you have to look at the competition, times, numbers or blindsight.
A jog to you may be a sprint to others.
A sprint to you may be a jog to others.
Here’s the thing.
It’s…
“to others”.
I was talking to a wonderful couple I trained before their wedding and we discussed various topics. The whole time they were talking, I listened and had the student hat on. The key message they gave me was...
“Arthur. You can’t have a great life and won’t be a great person if you don’t focus on yourself.”
It seems simple.
But it hit me.
It’s not a sprint race.
It’s not a marathon race
Instead of looking around.
I have to block out all the noise.
Look within and “focus on you” race.
When the gun goes off.
When you have the mic and the audience is quiet.
When the deadline is approaching.
You know you’re ready when butterflies and anxiety creeps into your calmness.
It doesn’t matter how fast or slow you are.
With ONE word...
I’m going to show you how to…
Gain momentum.
Have confidence.
Have excitement.
...in whatever race, events, quest or contest you're in.
It looks like this...
Energy >> Execution >> Excitement
It have 3 phases:
1. Energy (the beginning) Your goals and planning.
2. Execution (the middle) You and execution/action collided.
3. Excitement (the end) You reflect, learn and excitement comes within. Now you go back to phase one (the beginning) and you start again.
It’s a cycle as you go back around.
We tend to OVER complicate things.
We lose sight of what is IMPORTANT.
We FORGET that our journey will go faster and you will feel amazing when we…
(Ready for the ONE word???)

Adjust.
...adjust (increase or decrease) your energy and/or execution.
When you reflect and learn from the “excitement”...
(Energy >> Execution >> Excitement)
...as you go back around to your “energy”, you have to adjust things.
It doesn't have to be “do more”.
Occasionally you’re in the thick of the forest.
You can’t rise up from all the chaos and see the pathway.
Focus on doing “less”.
Adjust 1 or 2 things so you can make progress.
By focusing on the main thing, you will see amazing results.
I don’t know how you’ll feel when you cross the finish line.
I don’t know your background story.
I don’t know what life means to you.
For all the work/adjustments that you did in the race, events, quest or contest you participated in, I honestly hope you're truly on cloud nine.
